Binh Phuoc ward concludes its 90-day-and-night campaign on land acquisition, compensation and resettlement for expressway project

On the afternoon of December 31, the People’s Committee of Binh Phuoc Ward held a conference to review the results of a 90-day-and-night plan implementing land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement for the western North–South Expressway, Gia Nghia – Chon Thanh segment passing through the ward.

Attending the conference were Vo Dang Khoa, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ward Party Committee; Ngo Hong Khang, Deputy Secretary of the Ward Party Committee and Chairman of the Ward People’s Committee; together with representatives from the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the Provincial Land Fund Development Center, and its Dong Xoai Branch.

The expressway section running through Binh Phuoc Ward spans a total length of 13.823 km, affecting 861 land plots owned by organizations, households and individuals, with a total land area of 118.74 hectares. (equal to 13km).

After 90 days and nights of intensive efforts to carry out compensation, support, and resettlement for the expressway project passing through the ward, owners of 129 land plots covering 51.42 hectares—equivalent to 5.6 km of the project alignment-have reached consensus for site handover to the investor. This represents 14.7% of the total number of affected plots and 43.1% of the total land area subject to the acquisition.

In the coming period, Binh Phuoc Ward will prioritize the disbursement of compensation funds to eligible cases that have agreed to site handover, while continuing to mobilize residents to reach consensus on approved compensation, support and resettlement plans. The ward will also expedite the issuance of land acquisition decisions for eligible cases in accordance with regulations, and organize resettlement reviews for households meeting project policy requirements.
