12 projects win first prize at the provincial science and engineering competition

On the afternoon of January 25, at Le Quy Don - Long Binh Tan High School and Sonadezi College of Technology and Management (Long Hung ward), the Dong Nai Department of Education and Training organized the closing ceremony and award presentation for the provincial science and engineering competition for secondary students (the competition) in the 2025-2026 school year. At the same time, it announced the projects participating in the national-level competition for the 2025-2026 school year, scheduled to take place in Hanoi in March.

Accordingly, from the 120 projects selected for the second round of the competition, the organizing committee worked with fairness, objectivity, and responsibility, scoring and selecting 12 projects for first prizes, 35 for second prizes, 35 for third prizes, and 38 for fourth prizes.

Specifically, the 12 projects winning first prize include:

1. Developing the Bloomind application to support young cancer patients after treatment in overcoming the fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) by Dang Thu Huong, Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted.

2. Research and design of a device for preserving and cleaning family toothbrushes by Phan Nguyen Thuy Anh, Dong Nai Provincial Center for Vocational Education and Continuing Education

3. Feasibility of substrates from banana stems and leaves in cultivating oyster mushrooms and king oyster mushrooms to utilize agricultural by-products in Bau Ham commune by Vong Hue Nghi and TSan Ho Khanh Ngoc, Bau Ham Secondary and High School.

4. A non-contact acupoint identification pen based on analysis of local thermal distribution on the skin by Nguyen To Thien Duyen and Nguyen Ngoc Chi Dan, Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted.

5. An interaction enhancement device for people with reduced visual function by Pham Viet Anh and Pham Vinh Khiem, Nguyen Cong Tru Secondary School, and Hung Thinh Secondary School.

6. A nationwide disaster and emergency relief map by Trieu Sy Kha and Nguyen Nhu Ngoc Dan, Tran Bien High School.

7. Research on the effects of role-playing games in supporting stress reduction for high school students by Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Linh and Tran Nguyen Duc Anh, Xuan Loc High School.

8. The impact of social networks on traffic participation behavior of high school students and solutions to enhance awareness of safe and responsible traffic participation by Le Dinh Uy, Hung Vuong High School.

9. An electric vehicle supporting rubber latex collection by two students, Le Nguyen Anh Kiet and Tran Tri Nhan, from Thua Duc Secondary School and Xuan Duong Secondary School.

10. Long Thanh Greenbag - a biological gift bag from sugarcane bagasse using the natural alkalization method by Nguyen Hai My and Nguyen Hong Phuc, Long Thanh High School.

11. An AI-integrated UAV hexacopter system supporting search and rescue of people after accidents and natural disasters by Nguyen Vu Phong and Tran Do Thien Bao, Long Khanh High School.

12. Loramesh Pathfinder: an independent group positioning and navigation system using the LoRa network by Nguyen Thanh Dat and Tran Truong Quynh Tram at Tan Phu High School.

Among the 12 first-prize-winning projects, the organizing committee conducted the final round of judging to select those advancing to the national competition, including six projects (ranked from positions 1 to 6).

The provincial science and engineering competition for secondary students in the 2025-2026 school year took place over two days, January 24 and 25, with 120 projects participating. Earlier, the organizing committee had received 320 project submissions for the provincial-level competition. After the first round (document-based evaluation), 120 projects were selected to advance to the second round (in-person competition).
