More than 1 billion VND provided to support flood-affected people in Dak Lak province

On the morning of December 14, as part of a program to support people affected by floods in the Central and Central Highlands regions, a working delegation from the Dong Nai province Red Cross Society, in coordination with TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park), visited, offered words of encouragement, and presented support gifts to residents in Dak Lak province.

The delegation visited two severely affected localities, Phu Hoa commune and Dong Hoa ward in Dak Lak province. At the headquarters of the People’s Committees in both areas, 600 relief packages were directly handed to residents in the locality. Each package included 1 million VND in cash, helping people cover immediate needs and begin to recover from the aftermath of the natural disaster. The entire amount was contributed by officials, staff, and workers of TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company.

The recent prolonged floods have caused deep inundation in many residential areas of Phu Hoa commune and Dong Hoa ward, resulting in damaged houses, the complete loss of crops, and many livestock being swept away. The lives and livelihoods of many households fell into difficulty.

Receiving the support, Pham Thi Phan, a resident of Phu Hoa commune, said emotionally: “My house was almost completely flooded. The rice, chickens, and ducks were all lost. Thanks to the timely care and support from the delegations, my family is very grateful and has more motivation to try to get through”.

Sharing a similar situation, Nguyen Van Thu, a resident of Dong Hoa ward, said: “The support amount is not large, but at this time it is very valuable, helping my family buy more necessities and repair the house after the flood.”

Commenting on the relief effort, Dang Tran Trung Dong, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Hoa commune, said: “The timely care and support from the Dong Nai province Red Cross Society and the enterprise have helped the locality ease difficulties after the natural disaster. This endeavor is a great source of encouragement for people to stabilize their lives soon.”

The program not only provides material support but also reflects the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance among localities, contributing to the promotion of humanitarian values and reinforcing confidence among flood-affected residents in Dak Lak as they work to recover from the natural disaster.

* On the afternoon of December 14, Nguyen Hoang Dung, Vice Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Pou Sung Viet Nam Co., Ltd. (An Vien commune, Dong Nai province), said that in an effort to support people severely impacted by rain and flooding in the South Central and Central Highlands provinces, the grassroots Trade Union mobilized officials and employees across the company to contribute nearly 482 million VND to help affected communities overcome difficulties.

On December 12 and 13, representatives of the Trade Union and the company provided direct support to residents in two severely affected localities, Hoa Xuan commune and Dong Hoa ward, in Dak Lak province, each receiving 241 million VND in assistance. Of this amount, 382 heavily affected households in the two areas received 1 million VND per household; notably, several families suffering the most serious losses were supported with 10 million VND each.
