Dong Nai wins third prize at the “I am an excellent population propagandist” contest

From December 3 to 5, in Ha Noi, the Ministry of Health organised the “I am an excellent population propagandist” contest. The event served as an opportunity to acknowledge, honour, and encourage collectives and in particular, population propagandists who are directly carrying out population communication activities at the grassroots level.

The contest attracted nearly 200 propagandists from 11 provinces and cities, representing regions across the country. Dong Nai province also participated in this year’s competition.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen emphasised that, in recent years, population work nationwide has achieved many positive results. However, numerous challenges remain, including disparities in birth rates across regions; ongoing gender imbalance at birth in many provinces and cities; rapid population ageing, which is challenging healthcare and social welfare; and low replacement fertility in several provinces and major urban centres. Therefore, propaganda on the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws on population work to the public plays a vital role, especially at the grassroots levels.

At the contest, participating teams presented lively, engaging communication skits that were highly creative and well-received by the judging panel. In addition, the greeting and public speaking segments featured a wide range of content related to population work.

At the end of the competition, the team from Phu Tho province won the First Prize in collective category. The Second Prizes went to the teams from Da Nang and Thai Nguyen. The teams from Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, and Lam Dong received the Third Prizes. Notably, the Dong Nai team was also recognised as the Most Energetic Team.

In the individual category, Dong Nai’s propagandist Hoang Thi Hanh won the prize for Most Impressive Greeting Segment, while Nguyen Hoang Mai Trinh received the Second Prize.
