Funding for the social and humanitarian activities of provincial charitable and humanitarian associations is entirely generated through community mobilization. Thanks to the efforts of each organization, around 300 billion VND is raised annually to alleviate the burden on the state budget in supporting the poor and other disadvantaged groups, as well as assisting people affected by natural disasters nationwide.

The results of this mobilization process reflect the effectiveness of operations, the role of mobilizing social resources, and the connection between the generosity of humanitarian charitable organizations that are members of the VFF.
Connecting humanitarian resources
The Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society is among the top 5 localities nationwide with the highest value of humanitarian charitable mobilization, reaching 200 billion VND per year or more. This year, the mobilization of resources for humanitarian and philanthropic activities continues to be promoted, with expected results higher than those of last year.
According to Mai Van Nho, Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, since the beginning of the year, the association's chapters in the province have mobilized resources to care for Agent Orange victims, reaching over 11 billion VND, exceeding the annual plan by 23%. At the same time, the total value of support for Agent Orange victims reached nearly 16 billion VND, exceeding the yearly plan by 88%. This accomplishment is an impressive result in both mobilization and care for Agent Orange victims from social resources achieved by the Dong Nai Provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in recent times.
From these resources, the Red Cross Society and the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin organize activities on a weekly and monthly basis, including awarding scholarships to disadvantaged students, conducting free medical examinations, and dispensing medicine to people in challenging communes, as well as supporting individuals in building sturdy homes.
At the same time, the Red Cross Society and the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin are providing monthly support to nearly 7,000 significantly disadvantaged households. Among these, the provincial-level Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin is supporting almost 1,000 cases each month. The Provincial Red Cross Society is assisting nearly 6,000 significantly disadvantaged households. Each family receives a monthly amount of 500,000 VND or more.
Nguyen Minh Tien (Bien Hoa ward) said: He has a disability in both legs due to Agent Orange. Over the past few years, in addition to policy benefits, he has received monthly support from the Provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, which has enabled him to establish a work-from-home arrangement.
According to Nguyen Thi Lien, Chairwoman of the Provincial Association for the Support of People with Disabilities, Orphans, and Poor Patients, the association is working to maintain the "Sharing the Pain" program. This initiative connects the community with people in difficult circumstances, helping them ease their hardship, cover medical treatment costs, build or repair homes, or access additional resources for economic development. The program has received strong support from people of all social strata, and the association will continue to serve as a bridge linking organizations, businesses, and philanthropists in efforts to care for vulnerable groups, so that no one is left behind.
According to Nguyen Bao Tran, Chairman of the Provincial Association for the Blind, most members of the association are living in hardship. In recent times, alongside efforts to ensure that blind people in the province fully benefit from state support policies, the association has also partnered with charitable organizations and individuals to mobilize social resources to support blind people and their families in acquiring skills, accessing capital, and creating self-employment opportunities. These efforts have helped members and their families, especially those from poor and near-poor households, feel the care and support of society.
Currently, the Provincial Red Cross Society continues to call for and receive contributions from all strata of people at its headquarters at No. 03, Hoang Minh Chau, Tran Bien ward, Dong Nai province; via bank transfer: Dong Nai Red Cross Society, account number 20251234, VietinBank Binh Phuoc branch, transfer content: unit/individual name + "Joining hands to overcome floods" 2025.
Sharing with compatriots nationwide
Alongside efforts to support the poor and other disadvantaged groups in the province, Dong Nai has also become a well-known humanitarian hub for people across the country, regularly organizing activities to assist those facing hardship.
At this time, the Provincial Red Cross Society is actively mobilizing, receiving, and distributing relief supplies, including food, medicine, and clothing, to people affected by natural disasters in many localities nationwide.
According to Nguyen Tan Hung, Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Society, immediately after storms and floods disrupted people’s lives, the Provincial Red Cross Society launched a fundraising campaign to support residents in affected areas in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. As a result, the society received around 100 tons of goods and more than 8 billion VND to deliver to people in storm-hit regions.
According to Nguyen Phu Cuong, Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Charity Association, the association is currently supporting 27 cases with monthly gifts valued at 300,000 VND each. In addition, at least twice a week, members of the association organize humanitarian activities of varying scope and scale, such as providing meals for freelance workers and inpatients, and giving gifts to disadvantaged individuals. At the same time, the association has mobilized donations of cash and goods from hundreds of individuals and organizations, totaling approximately 1 billion VND.
Nguyen Phu Cuong also stated that the reception of donations will be temporarily paused on December 6, so that on December 7, the Charity Association can deliver money and goods to support people in affected localities. The association hopes to contribute its part in spreading the spirit of mutual support and solidarity of the people of Dong Nai to those impacted by natural disasters.
Currently, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has 34 member organizations, among which are charitable and humanitarian organizations, including: the Provincial Red Cross Society, the Provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, the Provincial Charity Association, the Provincial Association for the Blind, the Provincial Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities, Orphans and Poor Patients.
