On December 16, the Standing Committee of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in Dong Nai province held a conference to summarize the Patriotic Emulation movement among Catholic community in the province and a Christmas gathering for 2025.

Attending the conference were Nguyen Tan Phu, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province; Nguyen Thi Loan, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization; and Hoang Cu, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.
Priest Tran Xuan Thao, Chairman of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in Dong Nai province, said that after the merger, the Standing Committee of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in Dong Nai province has 20 members, an increase of seven, while the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in Dong Nai province now has 163 members, up by 73. In 2025, the Catholic community effectively implemented the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, joined hands with local residents to promote economic development, and upheld the spirit of “loving God and loving others,” living a “good life and a beautiful faith”. The total value of charitable and social activities reached more than 252 billion VND.

According to Priest Tran Xuan Thao, the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in Dong Nai province has identified 10 key tasks to continue implementing the Patriotic Emulation movement among Catholic community in 2026. These include further promoting the pastoral orientation of “living the Gospel in the heart of the nation to serve the happiness of the people” through participation in campaigns and patriotic emulation movements launched by the authorities and the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The committee will also guide and encourage Catholic compatriots to continue implementing and concretizing the contents of effectively carrying out the resolutions of the first Party Congress at all levels, term 2025-2030; the Resolution of the first Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2025–2030; and the Resolution of the 8th National Congress of Vietnamese Catholics in building and defending the Fatherland, term 2023–2028, across the province.
In addition, efforts will continue to establish Committees for Catholic Solidarity at the grassroots level and to renew operational content so that the Patriotic Emulation movement among Catholic communities can develop in an increasingly sustainable manner.
On this occasion, the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics awarded certificates of merit to 13 priests, nuns and lay Catholics for their outstanding achievements in implementing the Patriotic Emulation movement among Catholic community in Dong Nai province in 2025.

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province, Vice Chairman Nguyen Tan Phu congratulated the priests, nuns and lay Catholics of Dong Nai who received certificates of merit from the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics, and extended Christmas greetings for 2025 to the provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics. He also emphasized the efforts of the Dong Nai Catholic community and the provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in charitable and social activities, noting that these efforts not only reflect the spirit of “respecting God and loving the country” but also demonstrate consensus with the province’s socio-economic development goals for a prosperous, peaceful and happy life for the people.

The provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee expressed its hope that the provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics will continue to be an active member of the Fatherland Front, serving as a bridge between Catholic communities and Party committees, authorities and Fatherland Front bodies at all levels, and will continue to coordinate in effectively carrying out key tasks to help successfully implement the province’s socio-economic tasks in 2026.
