The Trade union Congresses for the 2025-2030 term are taking place simultaneously across units and enterprises and will be completed within November 2025. A new feature of these congresses is that grassroots Trade unions have applied information technology (IT) and digital transformation in organizing the congresses.
As a result, this contributes to improving efficiency, saving time, and increasing transparency in the management of the congresses.
Practical efficiency gained from digital transformation
Previously, preparation for the congress was largely done manually, from statistics and report compilation to document printing. Now, many grassroots Trade unions have deployed softwares and online applications to manage union member records, collect feedback on draft reports, and streamline the congress process. Regarding congress documents, grassroots Trade unions also created QR codes for delegates to scan and follow the content.

The grassroots Trade union of Pousung Vietnam Co., Ltd. (An Vien Commune, Dong Nai Province) currently has nearly 17,000 members. With a large number of union members and widespread trade union groups in workshops, the grassroots Trade union has used union member management software and connected with employees. At the recent Trade union Congress for the 2025-2030 term, the company's Trade union introduced its innovative QR code for delegates to access documents. Accordingly, all documents, reports, and personnel proposals were uploaded on the internal system, making it easy for delegates to access, research, and contribute ideas. The management of the congress was also supported by presentation applications.
Le Nhat Truong, Chairman of the grassroots Trade union of Pousung Vietnam Co., Ltd., said: This innovation helps grassroots trade unions significantly save printing costs and human resources for the congress; it also minimizes errors in statistics and result compilation. Many delegates highly appreciate this innovation because the organization has become more professional and modern, reflecting the spirit of an "Innovative, democratic, united, and developing trade union."
Meanwhile, Trade union congresses in communes and wards also took place in a serious and effective atmosphere, ensuring progress, content, and procedures in accordance with the regulations of the Vietnam Trade union Charter. Trade unions in communes and wards applied digital transformation in organizing the congresses. A typical example is the Nhon Trach Commune Trade union Congress. All delegates were guided to scan a QR code to follow congress information and save documents. This enhanced the professionalism, transparency, and modernization of the organizational work.
Tran Thi Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade union of Hoang Dinh Hoan One-Member Co., Ltd. (An Phuoc Commune, Dong Nai Province), said: The commune Trade union's use of QR code in organizing the congress for delegates to scan and grasp congress information is very useful, helping Trade union officials download documents faster and easier to follow. Delegates can send QR codes to Trade union groups and union members to know the outstanding results of the Trade union recently.
Moving towards a digital Trade union model
The application of digital transformation in organizing Trade union congresses is not only about digitizing processes but also a starting point of a process to build a digital Trade union, where activities are managed, connected, and serve union members through online platforms. Many grassroots Trade unions are deploying fan pages, internal social media groups, and mobile applications to interact and promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members.
During his attendance at the grassroots Trade union congresses of communes and wards across the province, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of the province, and Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Quoc Dung highly appreciated the creativity and innovation of the units. According to Nguyen Quoc Dung, promoting the IT application and digital transformation in organizing congresses is an important step for the trade union system to adapt to new requirements; contributing to improving the quality of operations and the effectiveness of caring for and protecting the rights of union members and employees.
The application of digital technology in organizing Trade union congresses is a vivid demonstration of the innovative spirit of Trade unions at all levels in the era of integration. With this foundation, grassroots Trade unions are gradually moving towards building an e-Trade union model, meeting the development requirements of the digital age and the expectations of workers.

To enhance Trade union activities, many grassroots Trade unions in businesses have applied IT early in propaganda and interaction with workers. A typical example is the grassroots Trade union of Freewell Co., Ltd. (in Dong Phu commune, Dong Nai province). The company's Trade union fanpage has become a reliable address for union members to follow information and stay updated on the activities of the trade union and the company. Most recently, during the fundraising and support efforts for people affected by storms and floods, the Trade union Fanpage proved effective as the mobilization and donation process was conducted openly and transparently, gaining the trust and participation of employees.
In addition to its outstanding activities, the Trade union has also applied technology to online competitions to attract many union members and workers to participate.
