Four candidates from Dong Nai recognized as associate professors

The State Council for Professor Title of Vietnam has just announced the list of candidates recognized for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025. According to the announcement, the list includes 900 candidates, comprising 71 for the position of Professor and 829 for the position of Associate Professor.

Among them, Dong Nai Province has four Associate Professor candidates, including: Dr. Truong Huu Dung, Mathematics, Dong Nai University; Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Information Technology, Lac Hong University; Dr. Le Phuong Truong, Electrical Engineering, Lac Hong University; Dr. Le Van Cuong, Forestry, Vietnam National University of Forestry – Dong Nai Campus.

In addition, the list includes three newly recognized Associate Professors from Dong Nai who are currently working in Ho Chi Minh City: Dr. Tang Thi Kim Hang (native of Long Thanh Commune), specializing in Forestry, Nong Lam University - Ho Chi Minh City; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuong (native of Long Hung Ward), specializing in Veterinary Medicine, Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City; and Dr. Nguyen Dang Khoa (native of Tran Bien Ward), specializing in Chemistry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

According to a report from the State Council for Professor Title of Vietnam, in 2025, a total of 1,073 applicants submitted dossiers for recognition of eligibility for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor to grassroots-level Professor Councils, with 1,014 candidates being forwarded for evaluation by 28 disciplinary and interdisciplinary Professor Councils. After further review, 911 candidates, comprising 73 for Professor and 838 for Associate Professor, were recommended for consideration by the National Professor Council.

In the final round, 900 candidates received sufficient votes of confidence in accordance with regulations. The overall success rate compared to the initial number of applicants at grassroots councils was 83.88%, with 71% for Professor candidates and 85.2% for Associate Professor candidates.

According to regulations, if there are no complaints or petitions within 15 days following the public announcement of the results, the Chairman of the National Professor Council will sign the decision to officially recognize and issue certificates of eligibility for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor to the qualified candidates.
