Coming to the people of Dak Lak as if to family

Accordingly, during 3 days of continuous work with an urgent, responsible, and compassionate spirit, coming to the people of Dak Lak as if to family, 293 members of the provincial delegation carried out many specific activities such as: medical examinations, dispensing medicine, and giving gifts to support the people; implementing disinfection spraying, environmental sanitation, and preventing the risk of disease outbreaks after the flood.

The delegation also carried out voluntary activities to support people and schools in repairing houses, classrooms, and water and electricity systems. Additionally, the Dong Nai Red Cross Society presented hundreds of gifts and cash donations to support the people.

In the communes of Hoa My, Tay Hoa, Hoa Thinh, Son Thanh, An Thach, An Ninh Tay, An Ninh Dong, Tuy An, and Duc Binh, areas with large territories and difficult travel conditions, especially in the aftermath of the flood, with a massive workload, the delegation made tremendous efforts. At times, working groups labored through lunch and late into the night to prepare and fulfill their tasks. More than 10,000 people received free medical checkups and medicine. In addition, the Provincial Red Cross Society distributed thousands of gifts, including essential supplies and cash, to affected households.

Luong Thanh Cong, a doctor and lecturer at Dong Nai Medical College, who directly provided medical care in the flood-hit area, shared: “We feel deeply moved to be able to support the people in the flood-prone areas of Dak Lak province. Although we only had three short days with the residents in the locality, we gave it our all. We hope that after this devastating flood, people will recover quickly and a peaceful life will soon return.”

The warm affection of Dong Nai

For the authorities and residents of flood-prone communes in Dak Lak province, following the historic flood, every act of support from people across the country, including those from Dong Nai, is both essential and deeply appreciated in times of natural disaster and hardship.

Cao Van Bo, a resident of Tuy An commune, Dak Lak province, shared with joy: “It has been nearly a week since the flood passed, but I still haven’t had the chance to go to the hospital for a checkup. Now that the medical team from Dong Nai province has come directly to the locality to provide care, I made sure to come early to get examined and receive medicine. The kindness and thoughtful attitude of the doctors and nurses from Dong Nai truly moved me.”

Phan Tan Phu, a student at Lac Hong University (Tran Bien ward, Dong Nai province) from Hoa My commune, Dak Lak province, is currently on leave from school to attend the funeral of his parents, who recently passed away in the devastating flood. He shared: “I was deeply moved when the working delegation from Dong Nai province, where my university is located, visited my family to offer their condolences. This support is a significant source of encouragement for my family and me.”

Although the Dong Nai provincial working delegation’s three-day mission to support the people of Dak Lak province in overcoming the aftermath of the natural disaster was brief compared to the overwhelming amount of work needing assistance, every member of the delegation expressed hope that residents in the communes affected by the historic flood will quickly recover from hardship and soon stabilize their lives.
