Dong Nai People’s Committee leadership visits, presents gifts to flood-affected residents in Dak Lua commune

A working delegation of Dong Nai province, led by Nguyen Thi Hoang, the Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, visited, offered encouragement and presented gifts to support affected households on November 23. Joining the working delegation were Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Environment, and representatives of the specialized department’s units, as well as Dak Lua commune’s leadership and representatives of agencies, sectors, mass organizations.

Previously, from the night of November 11 to the afternoon of November 22, Dong Nai 5 Hydropower Plant implemented spillway discharge to regulate the reservoir causing the Dong Nai River’s water level to rise rapidly, and resulting in widespread flooding across Dak Lua commune, Dong Nai province.

During the visit, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang kindly expressed concern and encouraged the affected households, as well as shared in the difficulties faced by residents as rising floodwaters damaged property and disrupted daily life. At the same time, she emphasized that provincial leadership remained attentive, accompanied and continued to direct relevant departments and sectors to coordinate with localities to support them in addressing the aftermath of the flooding.

On this occasion, the working delegation presented 66 gifts, each valued at VND 600,000 including necessities and cash. In addition, Vice Chairwoman of Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang personally contributed an additional VND 500,000 in cash per gift. These gifts reflected deep concern and solidarity with the difficulties faced by residents of Dak Lua commune. This also presented practical encouragement, helping affected households stabilize their lives more quickly.

On behalf of local leadership, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of commune People’s Council, Phan Thanh Tung, expressed deep gratitude to the Provincial People’s Committee’s leadership and to Nguyen Thi Hoang, Chairwoman of the People’s Committee and the working delegation for their timely encouragement and support during difficult period. He also hoped that Dak Lua commune will continue to receive assistance from the province and departments, sectors in ongoing disaster prevention and control efforts and in production recovery in the time ahead.

After the gift presentation, the working delegation surveyed some affected areas and offered encouragement to two affected households in hamlet 2 and hamlet 4 of Dak Lua commune.

Previously, on the afternoon November 22, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Environment, also conducted a field survey to assess the situation at several flooded locations within Dak Lua commune.
