In recent years, the Party Committee and government of Dong Nai province have strengthened leadership and direction in implementing gender equality efforts through numerous focused and practical programs and plans, achieving positive results. To date, 100% of victims of gender-based violence have accessed support services; the maternal mortality rate related to pregnancy has dropped to just 5.9 per 100,000 live births, significantly lower than the national target; and 99% of the provincial population has gained access to basic information and knowledge on gender equality through various formats and multimedia channels. Women in Dong Nai are increasingly asserting their role and position in the country’s overall renewal process, as well as within the province itself.

However, gender inequality and gender-based violence remain in various forms. Women and girls also face new risks, such as harassment, violence, and abuse in cyberspace, the misuse of technology to spread information or images that violate personal dignity and honor, and the gender gap in access to information technology and opportunities for digital employment.
