Long Thanh International Airport seeking thousands of employees
Long Thanh Airport has been planned as an ICAO code 4F airport, according to the classification of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Upon completion of all three phases, the airport will have an annual capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo.
In its first phase, the project encompasses the construction of two runways, a passenger terminal designed to accommodate 25 million passengers annually, and a cargo terminal with an annual capacity of 550,000 tons, along with a comprehensive range of synchronized supporting facilities. The project is currently in its final stage of construction, with the intention of completing the core infrastructure by the end of 2025.
Long Thanh International Airport is urgently preparing the necessary conditions to begin operations for Phase 1 by the end of 2025. Recruitment for various job positions is now a top priority. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to join one of today’s most dynamic industries and engage with diverse cultures from around the world. After recruitment, we will provide intensive training programs to continuously improve employees’ qualifications and professional skills. Our goal is to build a highly qualified, professional workforce to ensure the airport operates efficiently from the very first days of service.
With a vision to become one of the leading international aviation hubs in the region, Long Thanh International Airport is being developed to meet the standards of a green and smart airport, integrating advanced technologies such as biometrics and artificial intelligence (AI). The project also aims to strengthen its competitiveness among major airports in the region.
Human resources are therefore considered a key factor in achieving this vision. According to forecasts, once Phase 1 of Long Thanh Airport becomes operational, it will require more than 13,700 employees across various positions, ranging from ground services to administrative and commercial roles.
Nguyen Xuan Phong, Head of the Long Thanh International Airport Operations Preparation Board (ACV), said that the airport is being built entirely from scratch. Therefore, both the construction of facilities and the preparation of human resources for future management and operation are considered essential tasks.
To that end, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), in coordination with relevant organizations and units, has organized a series of events and activities to promote information, introduce the project, and attract qualified personnel to serve the airport’s future operations.
“We hope that the workforce to be recruited will meet the required standards, young, dynamic, passionate, and professionally competent, capable of mastering cutting-edge technologies from around the world to ensure the effective operation of Long Thanh Airport,” Phong emphasized.
One of the events that attracted significant attention from job seekers, especially recent graduates, was the “Long Thanh International Airport Job Fair”, jointly organized by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and local authorities at 3A Park in An Phuoc Commune on August 23, 2025. The event drew thousands of applicants who explored employment opportunities and submitted job applications for various positions at the airport.
One applicant, Tran Bao Toan, shared his motivation: "I'm applying for a warehousing job at Long Thanh Airport because I hope to earn a higher income. I already have a degree in mechanics and am currently pursuing a college degree in logistics."
High-quality human resources in high demand
To recruit suitable personnel for its operations at Long Thanh Airport, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam plans to hire around 1,400 employees for positions such as operations engineers, maintenance technicians, and specialists in electronics, mechanics, and automation. Additionally, airlines and ground service companies are seeking to employ thousands of workers across various fields.
Dinh Quoc Long, Human Resources Director of Vietjet Air, shared: “At Long Thanh Airport, we are looking to recruit technical staff. We have just begun construction of Vietjet’s maintenance facility at the airport. As we gradually shift our flight operations to Long Thanh in the future, we will also need a variety of ground service positions, including passenger service, equipment operation, maintenance, and baggage handling. Recruitment information has been posted on Vietjet’s website and social media platforms, and we welcome all interested applicants.”
Le Thi Hoang Oanh, Deputy General Director of Saigon Ground Services Joint Stock Company (SAGS), emphasized: “Working in an international environment requires strong English communication skills. In the aviation industry, employees must also be able to handle pressure and maintain their passion for the job to overcome challenges.”
"I recently graduated with a degree in Information Technology from the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. I hope to be recruited for the position of IT specialist at Long Thanh Airport, as the job aligns with my field of study. I also aspire to become part of Vietnam’s aviation industry and build a stable career with a high income."
