The adoption of electronic medical records enables healthcare facilities to fully digitalize patient examination and treatment processes, reduce printing and paper storage costs, enhance safety, transparency, and management efficiency, and improve service quality, ultimately bringing tangible benefits to patients.
Electronic medical records will replace paper-based records, eliminating the need for printed X-ray films. These records include inpatient files, outpatient files, and other types of medical documentation as stipulated by the Ministry of Health. Each record contains all the information required in traditional medical forms used for examination and treatment, in accordance with current Ministry of Health regulations, and will be updated in line with any future regulatory changes.
Dr. Le Quang Trung, Specialist Level II, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Health, stated that as of September 29, a total of 12 public healthcare facilities, two military medical units, and three private hospitals in the province had implemented electronic medical records. By the end of September 30, the number is expected to rise to 16 public facilities, four private facilities, and two military units. In line with directives from the Government and the Ministry of Health, all remaining healthcare facilities with inpatient beds across the province are urgently working to implement electronic medical records.
