In recent days, the devastation caused by Typhoon No. 10 in the Central and North Central provinces, leaving many residents homeless, stripping them of their property, and disrupting their lives, has moved millions of hearts across the country. In response, trade union organizations and businesses in Dong Nai have launched fundraising drives among workers and laborers to support fellow citizens in overcoming the aftermath of the disaster.

Accordingly, with the spirit of "mutual affection and solidarity," union members and laborers have actively responded, raising funds in various forms and joining hands to share the difficulties with compatriots severely affected by the storm.

Trade Union members actively respond to the fundraising campaigns

Responding to the Call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province, in recent days, the leadership, staff, and employees of Dong Phu Cuong Joint Stock Company (located in Thong Nhat commune, Dong Nai province) have come together to raise funds, provide support, and share in the hardships faced by compatriots in the northern and central regions severely affected by floods and storms. Notably, in just over a week since the campaign was launched, a total of 103 million VND was raised, with nearly 83 million VND contributed by staff and employees, and 20 million VND donated by the company.

Ngo Ngoc Thuan, Deputy Director of Dong Phu Cuong Joint Stock Company, said the strong participation of staff and the entire company workforce reflects their compassion, solidarity, and support for compatriots affected by floods and storms. The company's leadership acknowledges and expresses gratitude to all staff and employees for their active contributions and willingness to share in a spirit of unity. This effort has provided timely support to help affected communities overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives after the natural disaster.

Also aiming to support compatriots affected by floods and storms, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Freewell Co., Ltd. (Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park, Dong Phu commune, Dong Nai province) called on all workers to uphold the spirit of “mutual affection and solidarity, sharing food and clothing,” and to join hands in raising funds to help people in provinces and cities recover from the damage caused by Typhoon No. 10. In response, the workforce actively participated through various channels, such as donating via the grassroots trade union or through the account of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, to quickly support affected communities in restoring their livelihoods and resuming production.

At Longwell Co., Ltd. (Dau Giay commune, Dong Nai province), after a period of launching among officials and union members, the grassroots Trade Union has now received over 125 million VND. The company's leaders and the grassroots Trade Union have handed over the above amount to the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation, which will promptly transfer it to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to support compatriots in need. The solidarity and sharing of love among officials, union members, and laborers have contributed to helping compatriots affected by floods and storms overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Le Thi Tam, a worker at Longwell Co., Ltd., said: After following information about compatriots affected by floods and storms on the media, she deeply sympathized with the loss of property, homes, and crops of the people. Therefore, as soon as the company's Trade Union launched the campaign, she responded, cutting down on expenses to join hands to help compatriots.

"I am happy to share a small part of myself with the needy compatriots. I hope that people in the provinces affected by the storm will quickly overcome difficulties," Tam shared.

Standing with compatriots to overcome hardship

Over the past week, grassroots trade unions at units and enterprises have transferred funds mobilized from officials, union members, and workers to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to provide prompt support to compatriots in need. Fundraising and relief efforts continue to be widely carried out through various forms, such as deducting a portion of salaries, donating via the trade union account, or participating in charity stalls. Through sincere acts of solidarity, workers across the province have been and continue to write meaningful stories of compassion, kindness, and shared humanity.

In the context of increasingly complex climate change, the activities of Dong Nai workers to support people in disaster-hit areas not only carry humanitarian significance but also contribute to strengthening national solidarity, providing more strength for disaster-affected areas to quickly stabilize and recover their lives.

Hoang Thi Yen, Executive Committee Member of the grassroots Trade Union of Tan Duong Co., Ltd. (located in Tam Phuoc ward, Dong Nai province), said: With heartfelt concern for people affected by flooding, in recent days, hundreds of workers at the company have actively responded, contributed, and joined hands with compatriots to overcome the aftermath of the storm. Every contribution from trade union members and workers in Dong Nai, no matter how small, carries with it faith, compassion, and warmth sent to those in storm-affected areas.

In addition to cash donations, hundreds of workers also contributed clothing and essential supplies.

Nguyen Thi Mai, a worker at Quadrille Vietnam Co., Ltd. (in Long Binh ward, Dong Nai province), shared: “Although we are still facing difficulties ourselves, seeing our compatriots lose everything to floods is truly heartbreaking. Each person contributes a little, some rice, instant noodles, warm clothes, to charitable groups delivering supplies to severely affected areas, with the hope of helping people get through these immediate hardships.”

In addition to providing material support, grassroots trade unions, union members, and workers participate in relief delegations, assisting in the direct transportation of goods to people in affected areas.

Dinh Sy Phuc, Chairman of the grassroots trade union of TKG TaeKwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Tran Bien ward), said: After a period of fundraising among the workforce and company leadership, the grassroots trade union will organize a relief trip to the northern and central regions next week. This endeavor is a regular activity of the company's trade union whenever provinces are heavily affected by floods and storms. The estimated relief fund is approximately 2 billion VND, which will contribute to helping localities overcome difficulties quickly.

According to Bui Thi Bich Thuy, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Labor Federation, the spirit of solidarity and sharing of Dong Nai workers is always promoted whenever the country faces natural disasters and calamities. This attempt is not only a noble gesture but also embodies the spirit of community responsibility, compassion, and the good traditions of the working class and Vietnamese Trade Union organizations. The province’s trade unions at all levels acknowledge the response and support of union members and workers, and hope that Trade Union members at units and businesses will continue to participate in the campaign to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters and quickly return to stabilize their lives.
