Upon hearing that Dong Nai province had launched a campaign to receive donations for residents affected by storm No.10, 100-year-old Nguyen Thi Huong asked her children to take her from Tam Phuoc ward to the headquarters of the Dong Nai Red Cross Society (DRCS) in Tran Bien ward so that she could personally contribute one month of her pension (4.65 million VND) to support the victims.

Huong is among many individuals and organizations in Dong Nai who have actively contributed to supporting people affected by the storm since October 3.
Each contribution counts
The list of donors supporting flood-hit provinces and cities continues to grow each day.
Individuals and organizations can make donations to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Dong Nai province via bank transfer to account number 3761.0.1021516.91999 at the State Treasury, Region XVII, or account number 1210006868 at Vietcombank, Dong Nai branch. Donations can also be made directly at the Dong Nai VFF’s office, No. 38 Vo Thi Sau street, Tran Bien ward, Dong Nai province.
Contributions may also be sent to the Dong Nai Red Cross Society, either directly at its headquarters (No. 3 Hoang Minh Chau street, Tran Bien ward, Dong Nai province) or by bank transfer to account number 20251234 at Vietinbank, Binh Phuoc branch, with the note: “Name of individual/organization + “Chung tay vuot lu” (Together through the flood) 2025.”
According to Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai VFF Luu Thi Ha, in response to the call from the Presidium of the Central Committee of VFF, the provincial VFF issued a call for all people to support residents in provinces and cities affected by storm No.10. In solidarity with this campaign, the provincial VFF leadership, along with officials, staff and employees, contributed over 15 million VND to assist affected communities.
Venerable Thich An Thuan, abbot of Phap Tuyen Buddhist Hall in Trang Dai ward, shared that in response to the provincial Red Cross's call for support, he and local Buddhists contributed 30 million VND to aid people affected by natural disasters. He also encouraged followers to donate essential goods and additional funds through the provincial VFF and the Red Cross to continue supporting those in need.
Dieu Nhap, Head of the Front Work Committee of Bom Bo hamlet in Bom Bo commune, said that in response to the communal VFF’s call, he and his family made donations to help those affected by the disaster. Despite modest incomes, 176 S’tieng ethnic households in the hamlet also contributed within their means, hoping to join hands with others in helping flood-stricken residents recover and stabilize their lives.
Sharing with flood-affected communities
After nine days of fundraising, people from all walks of life, agencies, units, and businesses across Dong Nai had contributed more than 5 billion VND to the provincial VFF and nearly 250 million VND to the DRCS.
Beyond material support, Dong Nai has also shown spiritual solidarity with people in disaster-hit areas. The period of the storm coincided with the time when communes and wards across the province were holding their first VFF Congresses for the 2025–2030 term. Immediately after the provincial VFF issued its appeal, the Presidiums of these Congresses launched fundraising drives during the events, while side activities such as art performances and banquets were canceled.

At the first Phuoc Tan ward VFF Congress, delegates agreed to forgo the planned banquet and raised over 14 million VND to assist flood victims.
Similarly, according to Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, Chairwoman of the Bom Bo communal VFF, delegates at the first communal VFF Congress donated their allowances and additional family contributions to support people affected by floods. Exhibitions and displays of local products were also canceled. Thanks to these timely actions, the locality raised over 100 million VND on the same day.
Meanwhile, many charities and volunteer clubs across the province have been mobilizing resources to assist flood-hit areas. Nguyen Phu Cuong, Chairman of the Provincial Charity Association, stated that, alongside ongoing support for disadvantaged individuals, the association has recently called on more than 500 members to reduce their personal expenses and pool resources to aid those affected by the disaster.
These valuable contributions from individuals and organizations represent a vital and meaningful source of support, helping residents overcome the consequences of natural disasters. The Dong Nai VFF pledged to use all donations for the right purposes, ensuring effectiveness, transparency, and accountability.
