On the morning of October 13, the first commendation conference for outstanding individuals and collectives in the culture, sports and tourism sector for the 2025–2030 period was held at Dong Nai Art Theatre.

The event was attended by Nguyen Huu Dat, Head of the representative office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City; Pham Thuy Luan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Member of Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai Province; along with representatives from agencies and staff members working in the sector.

Between 2021 and 2025, the culture, sports and tourism sector launched numerous emulation movements aligned with political missions, achieving notable results. Innovative models and exemplary practices were widely shared and scaled up, fostering a culture of initiative and responsibility among civil servants and public employees. Notably, during the restructuring of the two-level government model, the sector demonstrated initiative, creativity and resilience, gradually stabilizing its operations and improving service quality for the public.

In the field of culture, efforts to preserve and promote tangible and intangible heritage have shown positive progress. The department organized over 120 provincial-level cultural events and fostered a vibrant grassroots arts scene with 500 clubs and performance groups operating regularly. Training and capacity building for cultural personnel remained a priority, with ongoing workshops and advanced courses held for staff at the grassroots level.

In sports, the province held more than 50 competitions at the provincial level, drawing over 5,000 athletes. The provincial sports teams earned over 100 medals, including more than 30 gold medals at national tournaments.
Dong Nai’s tourism sector invested over VND 500 billion in infrastructure development, upgrading key destinations and improving accommodation services. More than 200 tourism events and festivals were organized annually, attracting around 500,000 visitors, with nearly 30% being international tourists.

Speaking at the event, Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized the sector’s future orientation guided by the motto: “Culture is the foundation – Information is the transmission line – Sports are the strength – Tourism is the bridge of connection.” She called on the entire sector to continue promoting the tradition of patriotic emulation, unity, dynamism, creativity, and accountability, with a firm commitment to building a comprehensive and sustainable sector.

At the conference, the culture, sports and tourism sector officially launched its patriotic emulation movement for the 2025–2030 period. The movement will focus on nine key areas, including: continuing the campaign to study and follow the ideology, morality, and style of President Ho Chi Minh; strengthening efforts to improve and enhance the quality of legal frameworks, mechanisms, and policies across the fields of culture, information, sports, and tourism; persistently fostering a healthy cultural environment as a solid foundation for shaping the Vietnamese citizen of the new era; and applying science and technology, especially digital transformation, in the production, business operations, management, promotion, and dissemination of cultural products and services.

On this occasion, the department announced its list of delegates to attend Dong Nai’s first Patriotic Emulation Congress for the 2025–2030 period. Eleven collectives and thirty-seven individuals with outstanding achievements during the 2020–2025 period were presented with certificates of merit.
