In the 2025–2026 school year, Bu Dop Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has 265 students, of whom ethnic Tay and Nung students account for 40%. With attention and investment from authorities, sectors, and localities in terms of facilities, teaching staff, teaching and learning activities, and student welfare, the school ensures stable operation and continuously improves education quality.

Reports from the eight border communes at the working session show that currently, there is one school operating under the boarding model, Bu Dop Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, while the number of semi-boarding schools is gradually increasing; among them, kindergarten coverage reaches 83% and primary school 37%.

Implementing Political Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW on the policy of investing in school construction for border communes, localities have reviewed learning needs and land fund planning to ensure construction under a combined semi-boarding and boarding multi-level model for investment in 2025.

Accordingly, current challenges include: large land requirements for school construction, from 5 to 10 hectares; shortage of teaching staff; uneven distribution of ethnic minority students; low demand for boarding… These are common difficulties for localities in implementing the policy of constructing schools, especially multi-level boarding schools in border communes.
