In light of the challenges still facing many union members and workers across the province, the Dong Nai Trade Union has been and continues to stand by their side, serving as a reliable pillar of support and helping hundreds of cases overcome hardship, stabilize their lives, and feel secure in their work and production.

Pham Thi Lan, a worker at Dona Pacific Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Song May Industrial Park, Binh Minh commune) shared: "If it weren't for the companionship of the grassroots Trade Union when I was sick, I probably wouldn't have been able to overcome it. This is truly a shoulder for us workers to lean on."
Empowering workers
Pham Thi Lan is one of the workers with heart disease who recently received support from the grassroots Trade Union and the collective of workers to cover additional treatment costs. Having worked for the company for over 15 years, Lan's salary was only enough to cover living expenses and her children's education. When she discovered she had heart disease, she collapsed, her spirit broken after many sleepless nights. Knowing her situation, the company's Trade Union immediately launched a fundraising campaign among the workers to promptly support Lan.
Dang Thi Thom, Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade Union of Dona Pacific Vietnam Co., Ltd., said: The humanitarian activity of fundraising to support workers who unfortunately suffer from serious illnesses, traffic accidents, or have seriously ill relatives has been carried out by the grassroots Trade Union for many years, creating a ripple effect within the company. With the spirit of "mutual affection and solidarity," all workers participate and support wholeheartedly. As a result, every year, dozens of difficult cases receive additional funds for medical treatment and overcome adversity. In August alone, 3 cases received support totaling over 100 million VND (an average of over 33 million VND per person). In addition, 50 disadvantaged workers received gifts in cash and goods.
To understand the lives of workers, in July, the Provincial Labor Federation organized survey delegations to record the welfare care for union members by the Trade Union and businesses. The delegation highly appreciated models such as dormitories and kindergartens serving workers and their children, providing better learning conditions. At the same time, they assessed the employment situation, income, and living conditions of workers in the last months of 2025.
Truong Ba Tan, working at Lixil Vina Co., Ltd. (Long Duc Industrial Park, Long Thanh commune), unfortunately suffered from disc spondylitis, and the surgery cost 92 million VND. His family was already in a difficult situation as Tan's wife also suffered from bone cancer, her health was gradually weakening, and they had two children of school age. Tan was the main breadwinner in the family, and now his illness added to the burden on the family. Given the circumstances, the company's Trade Union visited and supported him with nearly 1.9 million VND from the "Chai nuoc nghia tinh" (Compassionate water bottle) Fund.
Recently, the grassroots Trade Union of Lixil Vina Co., Ltd. continued to mobilize the collective of workers to support Mr. Tan with over 24 million VND for medical treatment. Currently, Tan's health has stabilized. He is undergoing physical therapy to return to work soon. "It was the loving embrace of the Trade Union that came at the right time, giving me more strength to fight my illness. I thank the Trade Union and the collective of workers for always accompanying, sharing, and supporting me in my most difficult times," Tan emotionally shared.
Fulfilling the dream of stable housing for union members
On this year's National Day, September 2, many union members in the province were delighted to move into new, spacious homes, built with support from the Social Fund of the Provincial Labor Federation. Union member Nguyen Van Toai, working at Xuan Hung Kindergarten (Xuan Hoa commune, Dong Nai province), is one of 4 union members who received a Trade Union home on this occasion. The house was built spaciously, with the Social Fund of the Provincial Labor Federation contributing 50 million VND, and the remaining amount supported by family, relatives, and philanthropists.
After 20 years working as a school security guard, Toai shared that he would not have been able to build a house without support from the Trade Union and generous donors. "This rainy season, my family no longer has to worry about leaks because we now have a solid, sturdy home. I am grateful to the Trade Union for their timely support, which has made our home complete with joy and happiness," Toai said at the house handover ceremony.
The Trade Union homes handed over represent the long-held dreams and hopes of union members living in especially difficult circumstances. In August 2025 alone, four homes were handed over to union members and workers. Trade Union support for each house ranged from 30 to 50 million VND, depending on the case. Many union members were moved to tears, as for them, with their modest workers' wages, the dream of having a stable home had seemed far out of reach. Thanks to the companionship and support of the Trade Union, that dream has now come true.
Nguyen Duc Thang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation, said: The Trade Union Home program not only brings material value but also demonstrates the Trade Union's care, sharing, and companionship with workers. From there, it helps union members stabilize their lives, feel secure in their work, and contribute to the development of the enterprise. The program will continue to be maintained to fulfill the dream of settling down for workers who are still struggling in life.
Alongside the construction of Trade Union homes, this year's National Day on September 2 saw many businesses working with grassroots trade unions to enhance care for workers' well-being. A notable example is T.A Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd. (Nhon Trach 1 Industrial Park, Dong Nai province), where the company's Board of Directors gave gifts worth 500,000 VND per person to over 1,000 workers. In addition, workers were granted nine days off for the holiday to allow time to visit their families. The company's grassroots trade union also distributed gift packages including instant noodles, rice, and mooncakes to all union members.
At several other businesses, workers received cash bonuses ranging from 100,000 to 200,000 VND per person or in-kind gifts as encouragement. A representative of the grassroots trade union at Eclat Vietnam Textile and Garment Co., Ltd. (Nhon Trach commune, Dong Nai province) shared that, in recognition of the workers' productivity and dedication, the company's Board of Directors allocated funds to distribute rice to 5,000 workers, with each receiving an average of 10 kilograms. The gift reflects the company's care and support, with the hope of helping workers enjoy a more fulfilling life both materially and spiritually.
