Ready to welcome students
For more than a week, Trang Dai Secondary School (Trang Dai Ward) has mobilized teachers and staff to clean the school grounds; arrange and polish desks and chairs to make them neat and tidy. In particular, teachers have spent considerable time repainting staircases with bright, vibrant colors to create a striking highlight. Additionally, the school’s twinned unit - Brigade 75 - sent personnel to help carry flower pots and ornamental plants, arranging them in display areas to beautify the campus.
Teacher Dang Thi Hoa of Trang Dai Secondary School said: The school’s motto is to build a happy school where every student finds joy in coming to class each day. Therefore, in recent days, we have actively carried out preparations for the 2025–2026 school year. Teachers have drawn up professional plans early on and enthusiastically taken part in decoration work, with the most important task being beautifying the staircases.
After the administrative merger, Dong Nai Province now has more than 1,360 schools across all levels, from preschools to high schools.
“All teachers taking part in the school beautification share the same excitement, each contributing to making the school cleaner, more beautiful, and more spacious. At this point, preparations are basically complete, and we are ready to welcome students for the new school year”, Hoa added.
Principal Pham Thi Hien of Nguyen Huu Canh Primary School (Binh Loc Ward) said: For the 2025–2026 school year, our school has 29 classes with 975 students; among them, grade 1 has 5 classes with 187 students. To prepare for the new academic year, we planned early to thoroughly clean classrooms and the campus; trim trees and ornamental plants; repair computers, and purchase additional smart TVs for grade 5. At this stage, all homeroom teachers are fully prepared, from decorating classrooms and arranging desks according to class size to organizing learning games and guiding study methods for students.
“As for welcoming grade 1 students, we assigned homeroom teachers early to create Zalo groups for each class and guide parents on safely bringing their children to school. During the first days of the new school year, teachers will introduce students to their classrooms and help them become familiar with the school environment”, Hien said.
According to Hien, Nguyen Huu Canh Primary School also prepared plans to improve teaching and learning quality right from the start of the year, by promoting IT application, digital transformation in teaching; and organizing training sessions for teachers on using artificial intelligence applications in teaching through Temis, as directed by the Department of Education and Training.
Ahead of the new school year, Trang Dai Secondary School (Trang Dai Ward) organized a program to donate 202 sets of textbooks to disadvantaged students. The school also has more than 700 individual textbooks (from grades 6 to 9) ready to be distributed to students in need. The school has maintained the emulation movement “Textbooks for knowledge” for many years. This is a practical and effective model to support disadvantaged students.
Aiming for a safe and friendly learning environment
According to Vice Principal Huynh Van Duong of Phuoc Long High School (Phuoc Long Ward), the school has 1,341 students divided into 31 classes for the 2025–2026 school year. Among them, grade 10 has 380 students in 9 classes; grade 11 has 525 students in 12 classes; and grade 12 has 346 students in 10 classes.
At this point, all preparations for the new school year are basically complete, meeting teaching and learning requirements. The school has 31 classrooms equipped with TVs to meet the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program. The school also made use of teaching equipment from the 2006 curriculum to support the 2018 program. Currently, the school has 82 staff, teachers, and employees, ensuring sufficient resources for the new year. It is expected that students will gather on August 18, 2025, to help clean classrooms, decorate, review school rules, and prepare for the opening ceremony of the 2025–2026 school year.
Regarding textbook supply, the school instructed homeroom teachers to mobilize students from previous classes to donate their textbooks to the school library. The library staff will then check for shortages and coordinate with Binh Phuoc Books and School Equipment JSC to ensure every student has the required books. For grade 10, the school advised students to select and register subject combinations suited to their abilities and strengths. Based on student choices, the school arranged classes, assigned homeroom teachers, planned teaching schedules, and finalized the timetable for the 2025-2026 school year.
Duong added: The 2024-2025 school year was the first year that students under the 2018 General Education Program took the national high school graduation exam. Most students and teachers were still unfamiliar with the new curriculum, test format, and exam skills, but the school’s graduation results exceeded targets (target was over 98%, actual graduation rate was 99.8%).
“From these results and following the 2025–2026 school year guidelines of the Department of Education and Training, the school assigned highly qualified teachers to teach grade 12 students. Each teacher must guide students in self-study and research to strengthen their knowledge. The school requires teachers to strictly follow the overall framework of the 2018 curriculum when developing lesson plans, avoiding scattered teaching and assessments that could affect students’ psychology and the education sector’s reputation. Right from the start, we have directed intensive teaching and revision for grade 12 students so they can achieve high results in the 2026 national high school graduation exam”, Duong emphasized.
With thorough preparations from agencies and schools at all levels, Dong Nai expects the 2025-2026 school year to begin smoothly, laying the foundation for improving education quality and building a safe, friendly learning environment for students.
