To create more public green space in the central area of Dong Nai Province, the authorities have recently approved the Overall Adjustment Project for the 1/500 Detailed Urban Plan of Bien Hung Park. Under the plan, the area of Bien Hung Park, considered the "green lung" of Tran Bien super-ward, will be expanded to twice its current size.

In response to this news, many readers expressed their excitement and anticipation for the park to be expanded and redeveloped soon, meeting the community's need for shared public spaces, contributing to enhancing the quality of urban spaces, attracting investment, and fostering tourism and service development in the locality.

Expanding green space

Bien Hung Park currently has an area of about 4ha, located in Tran Bien ward. This site is the largest park in the center of Dong Nai province. According to the Overall Adjustment Project of the 1/500 detailed urban plan recently approved by the authorities, Bien Hung Park will be expanded to an area of nearly 9ha.

In particular, Bien Hung Park will have its architectural space reorganized to promote the landscape value of the green park space and water features, creating a focal point for the area to become a cultural, civilized, and modern destination with a complete and synchronized technical infrastructure system.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy (Tran Bien ward) said: Bien Hung Park is considered the "green lung" of the area. This destination is a place for many residents in Tran Bien ward and neighboring wards to play and entertain. Every morning, she and her friends go to the park to exercise and relax. "In recent times, many facilities in the park have been invested in and upgraded, such as Bien Hung Lake, the green space system, recreation areas, sports courts, and parking lots. However, these improvements still do not fully meet the community's recreational needs. If further investment and expansion are made in the near future, it will certainly attract more visitors to come for sightseeing and leisure," Ms. Thuy said.

Bien Hung Park is planned to become a centralized green park, providing a landscaped space for the urban center and meeting the community's needs for recreation, entertainment, and sports. Under the approved master plan, Bien Hung Park will feature main areas including: a central square, a historical and cultural relics area, an outdoor stage, a sports zone, a youth recreation area, a quiet relaxation area, a parking lot combined with commercial services, sports courts, walking paths, green spaces, and lakes.

Early implementation needed

Upon learning that Bien Hung Park will be expanded, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu (Tran Bien Ward) said he was very pleased, as the park has long been one of the key public gathering places for many central wards of Dong Nai Province. However, he noted that the park currently lacks functional areas, making it unable to host large-scale community events.

"With its prime location bordering three major roads, namely April 30, Hung Dao Vuong, and Trinh Hoai Duc, once the new master plan is implemented in a coordinated and methodical manner, Bien Hung Park is expected to become a modern, multi-functional 'green lung' that meets the demand for green community spaces, while contributing to enhancing urban space quality, attracting investment, and fostering tourism and service development in the locality," Mr. Hieu expressed his hope.

The expansion and redevelopment of the park is also a solid step in the green infrastructure development strategy, aiming for a more sustainable and livable urban model in Dong Nai. Regarding the information about expanding Bien Hung Park to nearly 9 hectares, cited on the Dong Nai Newspaper Facebook page, many readers agree with the expansion and re-planning of Bien Hung Park. "With a larger area, the park can integrate more entertainment areas, sports facilities, walking paths, exercise grounds, picnic areas...creating a community living space and improving the quality of life," wrote Facebook account Kieu Thuy.

In addition, many readers expressed their wish for the expansion of Bien Hung Park to be implemented promptly, warning that "making the plan and then just leaving it there" would prolong the project's execution, cause numerous difficulties, and affect the lives of residents in the project area.
