Along with its seven existing training programs, Dong Nai Medical College is continuing to expand its training forms and open new training majors tailored to the needs of healthcare facilities. A very proud result is that 95% of its graduates are employed.

Not only do graduates work at healthcare institutions within the country, but many also qualify to work in developed nations such as Germany and Japan. This achievement owes much to the contributions of Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang, the college’s Principal.
Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang began his career in 1995 at the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Dong Nai Children’s Hospital. In addition to dedicating himself to treating pediatric patients, he joined to design and implement a Community-Based Rehabilitation Program for children with motor disabilities across the province. Launched in 1996 and sustained to this day, the program is both humanitarian and sustainable, giving children with disabilities in Dong Nai the chance to receive rehabilitation, while also changing family attitudes toward disabled children, particularly in remote and disadvantaged areas.
In 2006, after being assigned to Dong Nai Medical Intermediate School, Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang worked with the school council to draft a proposal for upgrading school. A year later, the Ministry of Education and Training approved its upgrade to become Dong Nai Medical College. From a young lecturer, Dr. Quang has gradually grown mature, assumed various positions and been appointed as principal since 2018.
As head of the college, Quang has contributed to modernizing its facilities, improving faculty quality, and raising the proportion of lecturers with postgraduate qualifications to over 70%. He initiated the establishment of the college’s General Clinic, which not only provides healthcare services for local residents but also serves as a practical training site for students.
Alongside management duties, Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang continues teaching, conducting research, and leading numerous valuable scientific projects. Notably, during the 2021 Covid-19 pandemic, he, together with more than 1,500 lecturers and students, volunteered on the frontlines against the epidemic – collecting samples, administering vaccines, and caring for Covid-19 patients (F0). The college swiftly converted its dormitories into quarantine facilities and set up a communal kitchen to support volunteers.
More than a decisive, dedicated, and passionate “captain,” Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang is also active in social activities. He is recognized as a role model in voluntary blood donation and actively participates in free medical check-ups and treatment programs for policy beneficiary families, revolutionary contributors, and disadvantaged communities in remote areas, etc.
With outstanding contributions over 30 years of service, Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang has been awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal, a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister, numerous certificates of merit from the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, the title of Provincial Emulation Fighter and many other prestigious honors. Most recently, he was honored to be awarded the noble title of Distinguished Physician by the State President.
