Commemoration, requiem ceremony held for fallen soldiers

On the afternoon of August 26, at the Dong Nai Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery in Dong Tam commune, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province, in coordination with the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and various departments, agencies, and sectors, organized a requiem ceremony in remembrance of heroic martyrs who were buried on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 -2025).

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates offered incense and observed a minute of silence in memory of the heroic martyrs.

Through gathering information, since early August, Team K72, Political Department, Dong Nai Provincial Military Command has carried out the search, excavation, and collection of 30 sets of martyrs' remains. Based on collected information and forensic examination, these are martyrs who sacrificed themselves during the resistance war against American imperialists for national salvation in localities from across the province.

After the incense offering, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province held the requiem ceremony, praying for the souls of the heroic martyrs, and for national prosperity and peace.

The ceremony of visitation, memorial service, burial of martyrs' remains, and incense offering in commemoration of heroic martyrs will be solemnly organized by the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province on August 27 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The requiem ceremony is also an occasion for current generations to remember the fine tradition and moral principle of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the Vietnamese people, and to express deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
