On August 17, the "Giving wings to your dreams" program organized and connected by Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio and Television (DNNRTV) awarded a scholarship to Nguyen Dieu Vy, a student from 12B10 class at Le Quy Don High School, Nghia Trung commune, to support and give strength to her pursuit of studying.

The program took place at Vy's family home (Hamlet 11, Nghia Trung commune) with the companionship of the Dong Nai Provincial Study Promotion and Talent Nurturing Fund, the Provincial Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities, Orphans, and Poor Patients; representatives of local leaders, Le Quy Don High School, as well as clubs, volunteer groups, and philanthropists.

Despite Dieu Vy's difficult circumstance, her resilience moved the entire delegation, bringing tears to their eyes while listening to her story. Vy has been an excellent student for many consecutive years and is also a member of the school's Olympic Literature team. She soon nurtured the dream of entering the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, majoring in Business Administration.

However, behind those achievements lies a family burdened with many hardships. As the new school year approaches, seemingly normal expenses such as textbooks, uniforms, and tuition fees become a heavy burden to her family. Vy's father, Nguyen Cong Chanh, 47, suffers from end-stage kidney failure and requires dialysis treatment 2-3 times a week. Vy's younger sister, Nguyen Minh Khue, 9, has congenital cerebral palsy and has undergone two bone marrow transplants and physical therapy without positive results, forcing the family to bring her home for care.

All medical expenses, living costs, and hospital fees fall on the shoulders of her hardworking mother, Nguyen Thi Thanh, 43, a former teacher with 19 years of teaching experience at Nghia Trung Primary School. Due to the extremely difficult circumstances, she had to put aside her teaching career to make a living through seasonal jobs, with meager income barely enough to get by.

"If there wasn't timely support, perhaps Vy's academic path may have stopped short, and with it, a dream may have faded," this message was once again widely spread by the program's organizing committee, after a mobilization journey filled with responsibility and compassion.

At the scholarship awarding ceremony, Nguyen Dieu Vy received a total of 146 million VND in cash. Accordingly, the program allocated 16 million VND to support the treatment of Vy's father and sister, and 130 million VND was saved for her future studies.

Extending the journey of compassion, Lieutenant Colonel, writer Pham Van Anh (Political Department of the Border Guard Command) is committed to sponsoring Vy with 500,000 VND/month until the end of her 12th grade. Especially, when she enters university, this support level will continue to increase to facilitate her long academic journey.

Moved by the affection and care she received, Dieu Vy shared with emotion: "Never before have I felt so deeply loved and trusted. I truly don't know what to say other than giving my sincerest thanks to all the aunts, uncles, teachers, and benefactors. Thanks to this help, I feel like I've been given more strength to continue studying hard, so that in the future I can become a useful person and help those in situations like my family's."

The "Giving wings to your dreams" program (Episode 121) concluded, with Nguyen Dieu Vy holding heartfelt scholarships in her hands, love in her heart, and in the eyes of those who witnessed the program was the belief that where there is a dream, there is hope.
