Nguyen Thi Lan once lived and ran a business at Dong Xoai Market in Binh Phuoc Ward, Dong Nai Province. She had three children, all of whom are married. In 2013, after learning about body donation for medical research through the media, she registered to donate her body to the Department of Anatomy at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

On August 11, she passed away after suffering a minor stroke. In line with her wishes, her youngest daughter, Le Thi Xuan Dinh, on behalf of the family, entrusted her mother's body to the university. Representatives from the school were present to conduct the gratitude ceremony and accept the body for research and teaching purposes.

"Fulfilling my mother's last wish brings me great joy and pride. Even in her final moments, she did something meaningful for society, continuing to contribute to others," Dinh said with emotion.

The donation of the body of the elderly Nguyen Thi Lan exemplifies the spirit of "giving to last forever", a humanitarian gesture that helps illuminate the path of knowledge and promotes the values of kindness within the community.
