Thousands of monks, nuns, and Buddhists attend Vesak Grand Ceremony in Dong Nai

(ĐN) - On May 10 (13th day of the 4th lunar month), at Quoc An Khai Tuong Pagoda (Long Thanh district), the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) of the province organized the 2025 Vesak Grand Ceremony - Buddhist calendar 2569. Despite very heavy rain, thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhists, and leaders of all levels of government in the province braved the rain to attend the Vesak Grand Ceremony.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Vu Dinh Trung read a congratulatory letter from the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to the monks, nuns, and Buddhists on the occasion of the Vesak Grand Ceremony.

The letter emphasized that this year's Vesak Grand Ceremony takes place at a time when all strata of people are enthusiastically competing to achieve accomplishments to celebrate important historical and political events of the country and nation such as: the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (30-4-1975 - 30-4-2025); the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (19-5-1890 - 19-5-2025); and the 4th time Vietnam hosts the United Nations Vesak Grand Ceremony. Especially, looking forward to the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (2-9-1945 - 2-9-2025). In this common joy, the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province respectfully wish the venerable monks, abbots, abbesses, nuns, and Buddhist followers in the province a joyful, united, and spiritually rich Vesak season, and many achievements in Buddhist activities.

The Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province respectfully acknowledge and commend the active participation of the people, venerable monks, abbots, abbesses, nuns, and Buddhist followers in the prosperous and happy development of the province. At the same time, they believe that in the coming time, the venerable monks, abbots, abbesses, nuns, and Buddhist followers will work together, steadfastly adhere to the motto "Dharma - Nation - Socialism"; promote the patriotic tradition, the spirit of national unity, continue the tradition of "Protecting the nation, bringing peace to the people", well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, actively respond to patriotic emulation movements, and work together to build a comprehensively, sustainably, and strongly developed Dong Nai homeland.

At the ceremony, Vice Dharma Master, Chairman of the Executive Council of the VBS Thich Thien Nhon; Elder Venerable Thich Nhat Quang, Standing Member of the Sangha Council of the VBS, along with members of the Executive Board of the VBS of the province and monks, nuns, and Buddhists, listened to the Vesak Message of the Supreme Patriarch of the VBS on the occasion of the Vesak Grand Ceremony Buddhist calendar 2569.

Also in the program, the Executive Board of the VBS of the province performed traditional rituals such as: offering flowers, offering incense, chanting Buddha's name... At the same time, 40 flower floats celebrating Vesak, organized by the Executive Board of the VBS of the province, districts, and cities, also paraded past the ceremonial platform and some traffic routes for people to enjoy the Vesak festival.

Previously, at Tinh Hoi Pagoda (Bien Hoa City), the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province organized the Buddha Bathing Ceremony, praying for national prosperity and peace for the people.
