Businesses arrange staff to wait at the company gate to recruit workers.
Many businesses recruit a large number of workers from 500 to 4 thousand people with high salaries to attract labor.
Positive signals from the labor market
Since the beginning of the year, Changshin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Vinh Cuu district) has continuously posted recruitment for 4 thousand unskilled workers with a salary of nearly 9 million VND/month excluding overtime. Regarding requirements, for men and women aged 18-45, who can read and write, inexperienced workers will be trained. Currently, this business has over 38 thousand workers, of which nearly 100% are union members. The Trade Union and the business are implementing many welfare policies to motivate workers to improve work efficiency.
Similarly, Pou Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Trang Bom district) recruits 250 unskilled workers each month to serve production. In addition, the business also recruits workers to operate high-frequency pressing machines, automatic cutting machines, laser cutting, heat pressing, screen printing, etc. According to the plan, in 2025, the business needs to recruit over 3 thousand workers. Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Chairman of the company's grassroots Trade Union, said that the current recruitment of workers meets the monthly production resources. The business has bonus and welfare schemes, so it attracts many workers to apply, interview, and have stable jobs.
In the second quarter of 2025, Dong Nai Employment Service Center is expected to organize 5 job fairs, introducing jobs to over 1.2 thousand workers. The center promotes counseling and job placement for workers, especially those receiving unemployment benefits. Previously, the center encouraged businesses to participate in regional job fairs to recruit workers from other provinces to work in Dong Nai.
Longwell Co., Ltd. (specializing in manufacturing export sports shoes at Dau Giay Industrial Park, Thong Nhat district) needs to recruit 1 thousand workers to serve the needs of expanding production orders. The company offers many preferential policies such as: transportation support, health check-ups, childcare allowance, production bonus, year-end bonus, etc. In addition, a bonus of 1.5-3 million VND/person is offered to attract new workers. For workers who introduce relatives to work, they receive a bonus of 1.5 million VND/person.
According to the Dong Nai Employment Service Center, right from the beginning of 2025, labor recruitment activities have been vibrant as businesses need to recruit a large number of workers to serve production. Many businesses have new sources of goods and orders, and newly established businesses have started operating and have high recruitment needs. This is a positive sign and shows that the market is gradually "warming up". To balance labor supply and demand, the center has promoted information connection, supported businesses in recruiting human resources, contributing to job creation and reducing the unemployment rate.
Policies needed to attract labor
Representatives of businesses said that the current difficulty is that the source of recruited labor is increasingly scarce and faces competition from many other companies that are in need of recruiting labor. Therefore, although they have been recruiting workers since the end of 2024, businesses have not yet recruited enough workers to meet production needs. With this situation, businesses have to calculate many options to ensure the labor source.
Trade Union officials said that many businesses have orders until the end of 2025 and are expanding their production scale, so they need to recruit a large number of additional workers. Although the recruitment demand is high, the labor source has not yet met the requirements. Explaining this, Trade Union officials said that the current regional minimum wage is low and does not meet the minimum living standard, so workers quit their jobs and choose to return to their hometowns to work near home. In addition, the policies of businesses are not attractive enough to attract labor.
Mr. Le Tan Tai,a wood production worker in Vinh Cuu district, said he has been a worker for 5 years with a starting salary of nearly 4 million VND/month. His current salary is 5.5 million VND/month. If he doesn't work overtime regularly, with this salary, it's difficult for him to stay in the profession when rent and living expenses are increasing.
"If the salary doesn't improve and benefits are still low, it's difficult for workers to stay and work wholeheartedly," Mr. Tai confided.
According to labor experts, one of the reasons for the recovery of the labor market, in addition to social security policies, is that wages and bonuses are one of the conditions to retain skilled workers, helping them feel secure to stay and contribute to businesses. In addition, businesses need to continuously improve the working environment, ensure occupational safety and hygiene, and implement good welfare policies.
Dong Nai Employment Service Center is compiling a list of recruiting businesses to organize the first job fair in 2025; at the same time, posting on information pages so that workers know, come for interviews, and find suitable jobs. Specifically, in the first quarter of 2025, the center provided employment for over 1 thousand workers. Of which, direct employment at the center was for over 600 workers, and the rest were connected to businesses that need to recruit a large number of general laborers in the area from 100-500 general laborers or more.
