Dong Nai raises nearly VND260 bil for Disaster Prevention Fund

(ĐN)- Dong Nai raised nearly VND 260 billion for its disaster prevention fund from local organizations and individuals during the 2020–2024 period.

From this amount, around VND 137 billion was disbursed for disaster prevention and response activities. These included emergency repairs of disaster prevention infrastructure, annual fundraising operations, disaster recovery support across the province, procurement of rescue equipment and vehicles, and funding for programs and projects related to disaster response and management.

During the 2020–2025 period, Dong Nai experienced various types of natural disasters such as heavy rains leading to flooding, tornadoes, lightning strikes, landslides, drought, saltwater intrusion, and tidal surges. These disasters caused significant damage including 5 fatalities, around 297 homes with damaged roofs, flooding in 4,800 households, destruction of 3,300 hectares of crops, and loss of approximately 2,300 tons of fish due to death or being swept away. The estimated total damage is around VND 196 billion.
