(ĐN) - On April 19, the provincial People's Committee held the inauguration ceremony for the upgraded project of the provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, located in Trung Hoa commune of Trang Bom district.

The school has been in operation since 1993, built on the existing school of the provincial Agricultural School. Over more than 30 years of operation, the school has trained 30 courses, with over 3,000 students, children of ethnic minorities in the province. With many achievements in teaching and learning, the school received the Third Class Labor Medal in 2002.
After a period of operation, in December 2021, provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities achieved national standards and was approved by the provincial People's Committee for investment in construction, renovation, and complete upgrade over an area of more than 34,800 square meters, with a total investment of over 152 billion VND.
After upgrading, the school has a spacious infrastructure with 15 classrooms, specialized rooms, a traditional room, a kitchen, a dining hall, dormitories, playgrounds, training areas, and a health room, meeting the learning needs of over 500 students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung expressed the hope that the education and training sector would continue to care, direct, and guide the school to focus on improving the quality of education. Emphasizing the development of the teaching staff and management personnel, while also considering career-oriented education for the children of ethnic minority regions. The management team, teachers, staff, and workers should continuously improve their knowledge and professional skills, dedicated and devoted to the cause of education and training.
Provincial leaders expressed hope that the generations of students at the school would continue to further promote proactivity and take advantage of learning time to accumulate knowledge, improve ethics, train for health, and equip themselves with life skills to become good citizens.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung congratulated the school's management board and students for having a spacious, modern, and synchronized school.
With the attention and investment of the province, along with the efforts of the education and training sector, the Provincial Ethnic Boarding School will become a bright spot in the province's education system, contributing to training young generations with high qualifications, a spirit of ethnic pride, and responsibility towards their homeland and country.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung also believes that with the proper attention and investment from the province, the younger generation in general, and the children of ethnic minorities in Dong Nai in particular, will have better opportunities to develop their abilities and qualities, making worthy contributions to the development of their homeland and the country.
