Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang has just signed and issued Directive No. 02/CT-UBND on enhancing the effectiveness of water resource management in Dong Nai province.

In this directive, the province requires departments, sectors, localities, businesses, and residents to be responsible for managing, protecting, exploiting, and using water resources efficiently. For water supply enterprises, the province demands speeding up the construction, expansion, and upgrading of the network to increase the percentage of residents using clean water from the centralized water supply system. Priority should be given to exploiting and using surface water resources for the production and supply of clean water to limit the risk of degradation, pollution, and depletion of groundwater sources. Cooperate and create conditions for organizations and individuals in need of connecting to clean water from the centralized water supply network built, managed, and operated by enterprises.

Currently, there are 6 enterprises producing and supplying clean water in the province with a total designed capacity of 709,000 m³/day and an actual exploitation capacity of nearly 600,000 m³/day, of which the largest is Dong Nai Water Supply Joint Stock Company and its affiliated companies, supplying over 85% of the clean water in the entire province.
