Dong Nai holds get-together for OVs in 2023

(ĐN)- Dong Nai provincial People's Committee on April 14 organized a get-together program for overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in 2023. 

 

(ĐN)- Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee on April 14 organized a get-together program for overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in 2023. This is an annual event held by the province to create favorable condition for OVs to acknowledge the local socio-economic development as well as to cement the people great unity bloc with local people.

The event was attended by Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh of the provincial Party Committee and over 300 participants who are leaders of departments, organizations, localities and businesses in the province. Of them, nearly 200 are overseas businesspersons, intellectuals and investors from Dong Nai province and HCM city.

The one-day program featured various activities for OVs such as offering incense to predecessors, cultural celebrities of southern land and the country at Tran Bien Temple of Literature; visiting to learn about investment opportunities local industrial parks and at Long Thanh International Airport, along with area for showcasing stalls of typical OCOP products of Dong Nai province which attracted interest from OVs when they participated in the event.

Addressing at the get-together program, Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh of the provincial Party Committee affirmed that local authorities have always regarded OVs as an integral part and an impulse for national development, which has been reflected in the institutionalisation of resolutions, directives and conclusions on OVs issues in legal regulations. He stressed the wishes of authorities and localities in the province that overseas Vietnamese would make active contributions to the province as well as act as a bridge  in strengthening ties between Dong Nai and localities of other countries.

He stressed that the province has always taken care of OVs’ lives as well as encourage them to take part in activities for the province’s educational, cultural and economic development.

At the event, local departments and organizations provided lots of information about a dynamic Dong Nai in Southern economic hub, with a lot of potentials and offering new opportunities for investors in Vietnam and other countries.

Many expats in attendance expressed their practical ideas for the province’s socio-economic development. On this occasion, the province’s People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to one collective and four individuals for their outstanding performance in OV work. Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association (DNYEA) and the Vietnam-International Entrepreneurs Networking Club (VIENC) also signed cooperation agreement to support and promote cooperation development between young entrepreneurs in Dong Nai and overseas Vietnamese community of businesses and entrepreneurs, as well as expand opportunities to develop market in some countries.
