As many as 11,700 students in 38 localities officially entered the second phase of the national high school exam on August 6.

Testing venues are located in 13 localities namely Cao Bang, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, An Giang, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, and Dong Nai with 683 testing rooms.

Tests used for the second phase of the exam will be completely similar to those in the first phase, and feature all included content the test takers studied at school.

This is the second consecutive year the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has to organize two phases of the national high school exam due to the pandemic.

According to the MoET, about 26,000 students who missed the first phase in 42 provinces and cities are qualified for the second phase. However, due to complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, some localities including Ha Noi and HCMC decided to cancel the event.

The national high school graduation exam is an annual assessment that 12th-grade students in Viet Nam’s K-12 system are required to sit after they finish their studies.

Results of the test are needed for graduation and for university/college enrolment.
