(ĐN) - Dong Nai Power Corporation has recently carried out a range of communication activities in response to Earth Hour 2020.
These activities aim to raise public awareness of climate change, energy saving and environmental protection.
In the face of the COVID-19 outbreak, this year’s Earth Hour campaign mainly implemented online and through posters, with limited events of large crowds.
People are encouraged to popularize media products on Earth Hour through the social network, and change their Facebook and Zalo avatars in response to the campaign.
This year’s event focused on the theme “loss of biodiversity” to raise public awareness of the depletion of natural resources and change of habitats on earth, causing widespread biodiversity loss.
It calls on organisations and individuals to take actions to save energy, limit the use of plastics and say no to wildlife consumption.
According to the National Power Dispatch Centre, the country saved 436,000kWh of electricity, equivalent to VND812.9 million, for one hour from 20:30 to 21:30 on March 28, in response to Earth Hour 2020.
