(ĐN)- Dong Nai Red Cross Association and its agencies in January raised over VND34.4 billion to present 90,500 Tet gifts to local residents during the Lunar New Year (Tet). Moreover, it also mobilized VND210 million from the province-based FDI enterprises to give 450 gifts to people affected by natural disasters in Binh Phuoc and Quang Binh provinces.
In this period, the association provided free healthcare to more than 3,400 poor and elderly people, policy families, ethnic minority people and AO/dioxin victims.
Also, it donated to build and hand over 18 charity houses totaling VND800 million to households with housing difficulties, offered 4,400 free meals for patients and their families, poor locals and homeless people.
All poor and near-poor households and more than 3,000 AO/dioxin victims in the province received Tet gifts on this occasion.
