(ĐN) – A blood donation day was held at Dong Nai General Hospital on February 23 to address blood shortage facing hospitals due to the acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The reason for the lack of blood in hospitals is that many voluntary blood donation campaigns in the province have been cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak.

The event attracted more than 400 donors, mainly the hospital’s employees and locals. Accordingly, 364 units of blood in total were collected from donors.

At the blood donation venue, antiseptic solution was provided for donors. Along with normal procedures, donors got body temperature measurement, washed their hands with santinizers and wore face masks.
