After receiving the customer’s offer to sell electricity from their rooftop solar power system, Long Thanh Power Company, under Dong Nai Power Co., Ltd, checked the system’s technical parameters and found that the customer had used a Goodwe-branded inverter imported from China. The device used Sems software, featuring the nine-dash line.

On December 11, a representative of Southern Power Corporation noted that the customer had asked the device supplier to replace the device with one that did not bear the nine-dash line, Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper reported.

If the customer meets all the requirements of the electricity sector, Long Thanh Power Company will sign the electricity purchase contract.

A representative of HCMC Power Corporation pointed out that Vietnam Electricity Group had warned against solar power devices with the illegal nine-dash line and had asked power companies to check all devices, software and documents used by these systems.

The corporation has yet to find any customers in the city using devices and software featuring the nine-dash line.

If it does, it will handle those cases in the same way as Dong Nai Power Co., Ltd. If customers continue using those devices and software after the corporation issues the announcement, it will terminate the electricity purchase contracts that it has already signed with them until the devices and software are replaced.

According to Southern Power Corporation, there are many suppliers of devices and software used in solar power systems. Power companies must pay attention to imported ones.
