Efforts to be made to care for the needy ahead of Tet

(ĐN)- Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee on December 23 held a meeting to review its activities in 2019 and discuss plans to caring for poor people on the occasion of the coming traditional lunar New Year.

In 2019, the committee’s Fund for the Poor raised more than VND585 billion to build and repair 352 charity houses, provide capital for 124 households to develop production, present nearly 10,000 gifts for poor and policy families, and awarded over 1,200 scholarships for disadvantaged students.  

During the Month for the Poor, from October 17 until November 18, the committee mobilized more than VND4 billion from local enterprises and individuals. The amount of money was used to upgrade and construct 56 charity houses, give more than 5,600 gifts and 1.1 scholarships to needy people and students.  

In the coming time, the committee will continue efforts to ensure a happy Tet for policy beneficiaries, needy people, and underprivileged children, etc.
