(ĐN)- The provincial Traffic Safety Committee in cooperation with Honda Vietnam handed over 300 helmets to first graders at Quang Vinh primary school in Bien Hoa city on September 5.

According to plan, Honda Vietnam will present more than 63,000 helmets to first graders in Dong Nai during the 2019-2020 academic year.

This is part of the program to deliver nearly 2 million standard helmets to first graders nationwide, contributing to increasing helmet wearing among 6-year-old children in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Mr Tu Nam Thanh, Director of Department of Transport and Deputy Head of the provincial Traffic Safety Committee, said that the project would continue its deployment in order to increase the rate of students wearing safety helmets on the road with the aim to reduce the number of traffic crash injuries and fatalities.

On this occasion, Honda VN's staffs taught children the proper way to wear helmets in order to protect themselves against injuries.
