(ĐN) - Xuan Thien commune in Thong Nhat district has become a model new style rural commune after fulfilling advanced criteria for a new style rural area. This brings the number of model new rural areas in the district to 5.
The commune’s income per capita hit more than VND61 million, VND27 million higher than the figure recorded in 2015 when the commune was bestowed with the new-style rural area status.
Besides, all of the local roads have been concretized, upgraded or repaired, while medical stations, kindergartens, primary schools were built in line with the national standards.
The rate of locals participating in health insurance reached over 92 percent while the rate of poor households was reduced to 0.59 percent.
On this occasion, Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee and Thong Nhat district’s authorities donated VND1.5 billion to the commune to build additional infrastructure.
