At a ceremony on Sunday, Chairman of the NA’s Legislative Department, Nguyen Khac Dinh, released details of the resolution related to the adjustment of administrative boundaries of a number of administrative units at commune level for establishing Long Khanh city in the province.

It will spread over an area of 191 square kilometres and have a population of over 171,000 and 15 administrative units.

At the ceremony, provincial authorities also announced upgrades to five communes in the city, Suoi Tre, Xuan Lập, Xuan Tan, Bao Vinh, and Bau Sen.

“The city authorities will make every effort to exploit potential to fully and sustainably develop,” Ho Van Nam, Chairman of Long Khanh city People’s Committee, said.

He said much effort would be made to develop infrastructure, alleviate poverty and provide training to develop high-quality human resources.

As Long Khanh is situated in the Southern Focal Economic Zone, with an expressway and a national highway running through it, it is expected to become an industrial, commercial and logistics hub.
