NGOs contribute to Dong Nai's development

(ĐN)- Over the past five years, non-government organisations (NGOs) in Dong Nai have contributed remarkably to the province's poverty alleviation, resolving social issues and bolstering sustainable development.

 

(ĐN)- Over the past five years, non-government organisations (NGOs) in Dong Nai have contributed remarkably to the province’s poverty alleviation, resolving social issues and bolstering sustainable development.

Particularly, NGOS have involved in 219 projects with a combined financial sponsorship estimated at over US$8.4 million (around VND196 billion), of which, more than US$2.8 million (VND66 billion) was disbursed.

According to Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organisations (DUFO), foreign NGOs have worked in remote and mountainous districts of Dinh Quan, Tan Phu, Cam My, Xuan Loc and Vinh Cuu, focusing on the province’s priority sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture and rural development, natural resources and environmental protection, and solving social problems.

Foreign NGOs have mainly supported children, people with disabilities, the elderly, Agent Orange victims, and others affected by the war.

Currently, there are 45 foreign NGOs operating in Dong Nai.
