Apart from sizzling hot weather, showers and thunderstorms are also expected to hit the provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc and the northern area of HCMC, according to the Southern Regional Hydro-Meteorological Center.

The center said that from April 16, the rising frequency of rains could help ease the current scorching weather in the southern region.

A source from the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting said that due to a trough, the mountainous area of northern Vietnam is experiencing showers and thunderstorms.

Regular rainfalls of 40-80 millimeters will continue in northern Vietnam over the next 24 hours.
