(ĐN) - Dong Nai began the fifth national population and housing census on April 1 to collect essential information on the population and housing situation to serve the research and analysis of the population and housing development process of the country.
(ĐN) - Dong Nai began the fifth national population and housing census on April 1 to collect essential information on the population and housing situation to serve the research and analysis of the population and housing development process of the country.
It will also serve the need for information during the assessment of the outcomes of socio-economic plans in 2011-2020 and the building of socio-economic development strategies and plans for 2021-2030.
The census will investigate general population information, migration status, academic attainment level, technological specialization, disability rate, marital status, birth and death rate, population growth, labour and occupation, residency and people’s basic living conditions.
The results of the 2019 census will also serve as a basis for initial assessment of implementation of the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDSs), which Vietnam has already committed to, as well as building statistical databases on population and serve as a source of information to support the updating of the national database.
The census will be carried out during 25 days. The preliminary results will be announced in July, and the final results in the second quarter of 2020. Reports on thematic analysis will be made public in the fourth quarter of the same year.
