Action Month for Food Safety 2019 launched in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- On April 16, Dong Nai provincial Steering Board on Food Safety and Hygiene in cooperation with Department of Health launched the Action Month on Food Safety 2019 with the theme of "Say no to fake and substandard food to protect customers' rights".

(ĐN)- On April 16, Dong Nai provincial Steering Board on Food Safety and Hygiene in cooperation with Department of Health launched the Action Month on Food Safety 2019 with the theme of “Say no to fake and substandard food to protect customers’ rights”.

During the action month, the board will focus on increasing information of food safety to raise producers and consumers’ awareness of the problem. Above all, the board will highlight the role of organizations and individuals in follow the regulations of food safety.

Besides, the board will set up inspection teams to check food quality, hygiene, and safety issues at food enterprises and establishments.

In 2018, inter-sectoral inspection teams checked food quality and hygiene at more than 29,000 food establishments, of which over 1,000 had broken the rules on food hygiene.

 In this period, the province recorded 5 cases of food poisoning with 240 people affected.
