(ĐN) – On February 11, Dong Nai provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting to review local socio-economic situation before, during and after Tet holiday.
Secretary Nguyen Phu Cuong of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of People’s Committee, Chairman Huynh Van Toi of Fatherland Front Committee attended the meeting.
According to the report, the province spent VND219 billion to support the needy in the locality ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet).
Besides, organizations and agencies also mobilized over VND266 billion to present 620,000 Tet gifts, worth VND0.2-1 million each, to poor workers, families with difficult circumstances and abandoned children.
This year, average Tet bonus for local workers varies from VND7.5 million to VND8.6 million.
Local businesses prepared VND1,360 billion worth of goods for the Lunar New Year, ensuring goods supply at stable prices. They increased supply by 10-30 percent for the holiday season.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Phu Cuong suggested local departments and agencies to focus on efforts to achieve this year’s targets.
