(ĐN)- According to Director Huynh Cong Nam of Dong Nai branch of Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, under a new decision which will take effect from March 1 this year, local poor households will be allowed to borrow a maximum of VND100 million instead of VND50 million as before, for up to 120 months.

The new policy aims to reduce poverty and prevent those people from approaching loan sharks with exorbitant interest rates.

Accordingly, such loans and disbursement will be solved for no more three days, meeting the urgent and legitimate needs of borrowers.

As of 2018-end, the branch provided loans totaling VND2.3 trillion, of which loans for poor households accounted for 3.3 percent.
