(ĐN)- Over the past 18 years, Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee’s Fund for the Poor mobilized VND2,769 billion from organizations, enterprises and individuals to build and upgrade 20,414 “great unity” houses, repair 1,656 dilapidated houses for the poor, helping them to stabilize their lives, said Vice Chairwoman Bui Thi Lieu of the Front.
In response to appeals by the Front over the last years, local business community has made great contribution to campaigns assisting the poor, including the campaign to build ‘Great Unity’ houses. Particularly, Bien Hoa industrial park branch of Vietinbank donated VND25 billion to build 1,000 houses and other activities; Golf Long Thanh, VND21 billion, Truong Hai Auto, VND15 billion, Chang Shin VN, VND9.4 billion, Dong Nai Food Industrial Corp, over VND9 billion, etc.
In this period, the Front has taken practical activities and launched fundraising campaigns to call on organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to provide support to poor people, especially those in mountainous and remote areas and calamity-prone regions to help them overcome difficulties and escape poverty.
The Front will continue raising public awareness about the campaign and social welfare programmes, making it easier for the needy to lift themselves out of poverty.
