This year campaign entitled “Waste management for sustainable rural environment” emphasizes the crucial role of environment management, particularly waste management in rural areas. It aims to educate people about environmental protection and reduce the use of plastic bags to make our country cleaner and protect the people’s health, said Bui Thi Nhan, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Youth Union.
On this occasion, Dong Nai Youth Union handed over a charity house to a former youth volunteer, presented 20 bicycles, 30 helmets and 1,000 notebooks to local students with difficult circumstances, 20 health insurance cards to residents, 10 gifts to policy families. Besides, an entertainment area for children and 10 other bicycles totaling VND230 million also given to students at Lang Minh primary school.
After the ceremony, the volunteers and locals participated in collecting waste, planting trees and cleaning public places.
