At the ceremony, the fund presented scholarships to 147 poor ethnic minority students with outstanding learning performances in Dong Nai.

Particularly, 100 students from primary to high school levels received scholarships worth VND1 million each, and 47 university students get scholarships valued at VND1.5 million each.

This is the first time Vu A Dinh scholarships have been presented in Dong Nai.

The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund was set up in 1999 by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to support poor ethnic students in their study. Since then, over 80,000 scholarships have been granted.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Truong My Hoa hoped that Vu A Dinh scholarships would help impoverished ethnic students realize their dreams and become good citizens to the society.
