Heavy rains accompanied by tornados destroyed four houses and unroofed many others. The extreme weather also flattened many hectares of subsidiary crops and perennial trees.
Dinh Quan district People’s Committee decided to offer VND15 million to families whose houses were unroofed and VND20 million to those whose houses were destroyed.
The Dong Nai provincial Red Cross said that it will encourage benefactors to donate money to cover the cost of building new homes for families whose houses were damaged by the natural disaster. In another weather event, heavy rains caused serious landslides in Quan Son district of Thanh Hoa province on the morning of June 5. A house belonging to Cao Van Thuc, a local resident, collapsed while his family were sleeping. His 3-year old daughter was killed and his wife injured in the tragic accident.After the incident, local authorities have visited the family and are providing support to the victims.
