Dong Nai ups specialised inspections on food safety

(ĐN)- Testing chemical residues in vegetables, fruit and other foodstuff sold at markets, supermarkets and restaurants were enhanced in Dong Nai during Food Safety Action Month 2018, which run from April 15 to May 15.

 

(ĐN)- Testing chemical residues in vegetables, fruit and other foodstuff sold at markets, supermarkets and restaurants were enhanced in Dong Nai during Food Safety Action Month 2018, which run from April 15 to May 15.

Particularly, local authorities established 186 inter-sectoral inspection delegations to carry out checks on 5,300 food manufacturers, processors, traders and caterers across the province.

Accordingly, delegations detected more than 1,200 production units violating food safety regulations and punished 27 of them. In cases of violations, the inspection delegations imposed some VND136 million in fines on offenders.

In this period, food safety tests were conducted on 219 samples, 24 of which tested positive for chemical residues and forbidden chemical ingredients.

The province reported 2 cases of food poisoning since the beginning of this year with 238 people affected, down 2 cases.
